What a wonderful Sunday afternoon we had with Cara, John & Ashlynn Gutzmer and Maternal Grandparents, Roger and Cindy Knox.
Meeting at the hospital, we were able to guide Roger and Cindy "the back way" to John & Cara's house, then as true hunter gatherers, Roger and I went for food at Schnucks Grocery (Deli) while Cindy and Anne fulfilled their roles as nurturing grandmothers. A good friend Aimee was there to assist Cara and John with things around the house - what a blessing she was. After affixing Flamingos to the front lawn and a few pictures - John and Cara opened some gifts for them and Ashlynn. We then ate the food we had gathered - roast-beef and chicken, and several salads. We had cheesecake Cindy had brought, and Krispi-Kream Donuts. Wonderful day - we arrived home at 8 p.m. to a VERY LOCALIZED thunderstorm - just over our section of the county- it poured rain RIGHT OVER our house. We got the chickens closed up by truck headlights, and called it a night.
